Karine N'guyen Van Tham has "the fiber in her". It's the right word she uses to define her unconditional love of textiles. Student at the Beaux-Arts in Marseille, in space design, she then followed a training in upholstery for adults at Poinso Chapuis high school. With her CAP, she creates her brand Van Yen Design in 2013 to design linen, before deciding in 2017 to design her own textiles. Today, in the slamming of the smooth of her Japanese Saori loom she makes sacred clothes conceived as inheritances, feminine accessories and also realizes wall hangings in linen and raw wood.
Art clothes hanging_
These magical stuffs must not be wear but hang, expose themselves.
As a way out of time, each suspended or levitating piece of art is crystallized in our contemporary spaces to tell us its story.
Remains of another time they become support souls to touch, to rub close or distant.
They are second sacred skins that transubstantializes the person who wears it, transforming it into a winged being, a demi-god or deploying abilities unknown to the profane world (ecstatic journey).
Karine doesn't create simple clothes. She weaves, through each piece, links, bridges between the visible and the invisible, the real and the dreamlike.
Constantly in touch with her "frontier worlds", Karine offers us a mystical, precious world, where the beings who work there silently can surface.
Each piece is intimately linked to nature: tinctorial dyes, natural fibers and natural scales made from pine cones. They bring us closer to the earth and take us to other spheres
Van Yen Design's textile accessories are available in jewelry and small clutch bags.
Jewels, woven with linen and gold wire are lightweight and marry your lines.
Small clutch bags, also woven with gold and linen thread are lined with a french cotton.
They are all unique, naturals and precious; A learned mixture where each property of the accessory is respected.
Wall jewels are majestics.
Made of raw wood and natural linen they are the perfect balance between these two materials.
True wall jewels, they come to rest and adorn our walls.
The woods are gleaned, unearthed in Brittany's forests and carefully worked in her workshop.
Everything is done to sublimate them, preserve their natural beauty and irregularities that make them so unique.
Wall jewels are made of a meticulous assembly of hundreds of pompoms in linen that are all handmade by Karine N'guyen Van Tham.
